Our Story

The seeds of The String Bean Belmont date back to growing up on a small farm in north Georgia where my family had a large garden and canned its own vegetables.

I can recall sitting under a tree and stringing beans for hours a day, a task many would see as a lot of work. For us it was a great time to be together, to sit, laugh and talk.
From my teens through college, I took many jobs in the restaurant trade and built upon a love of food and making interesting dishes. In 2008, my wife and I fulfilled long held dreams and opened The String Bean Belmont, a place where people could enjoy great food in a warm and engaging atmosphere.
Downtown Belmont provided the personality we were looking for in a setting for our business, and we are thankful for the support we have received from the community and our many patrons who have become friends. Enjoy our pet friendly outdoor dining area and maybe catch some live music!
Our menu includes classic favorites prepared with a fresh twist and daily specials. We take great pride in the quality of our produce, breads, meats, seafood and dessert items, and we are thankful for the many local resources that we can draw from in this area. We love seeing our outdoor dining area full during the summer and our fresh market relied on for the winter holiday season.
To us, The String Bean Belmont is more than a restaurant. It is a place where we work to build relationships and to serve dishes that we hope bring customers back time and time again.
